Product Overview

The Raspberry Pi 5 16GB is a single-board computer built around the BCM2712, a 2.4 GHz quad-core 64-bit Arm Cortex-A76 CPU with cryptography extensions. What sets this version apart is its 16 GB of LPDDR4X memory, the maximum available on the board. It adds dual 4Kp60 HDMI output with HDR support, a 4Kp60 HEVC decoder and a PCIe 2.0 x1 interface for peripherals.

Compared with the previous Raspberry Pi generation, this model offers faster processing, better multimedia performance, more memory and improved connectivity while keeping backwards compatibility and similar power consumption. It suits desktop-style use, where its performance is described as comparable to entry-level x86 PCs. It has Gigabit LAN with PoE+, dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0, and two 4-lane MIPI camera/display transceivers. Power comes from an external 5V/5A USB-C supply with Power Delivery support.
