Product Overview

The Asus ROG Strix B850-A Gaming WiFi is an ATX motherboard in white for Socket AM5, built on the AMD B850 chipset. It supports Ryzen 7000, 8000 and 9000 series processors and has four DDR5 slots for up to 256 GB, with speeds of 8000+ MT/s (OC). Its connectivity sets it apart from other B850 boards: Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, Intel 2.5 Gb Ethernet and a 20 Gbps USB-C port on the rear panel.

Storage is well covered with four M.2 slots, the first running at PCIe 5.0 and the other three at PCIe 4.0, plus two SATA ports. Graphics cards go in the PCIe x16 slot, and RAID 0/1/5/10 is available with Ryzen 9000 processors. The white PCB suits light-themed gaming builds, and the board offers 7 PWM fan headers, 3 addressable RGB headers and AURA Sync lighting. A BIOS update may be needed for the newest processors.

All the process of building the config designed for my needs was handled very smoothly and rapidly by Jola. The desktop came with one day of delay due to DHL issues, not their fault. Irish online stores in general have a common practice of selling something they don't have - claiming they do - and then ordering from their source, leading to long shipping times and frustated customers. That was not the case here! I've asked them to let me know when they had the graphics card I wanted back in stock as it was out of stock.
