Product Overview

The Asus PRIME B840M-A-CSM is a micro-ATX AM5 motherboard built on the AMD B840 chipset, with support for Ryzen 7000, 8000 and 9000 series processors. It has four DDR5 slots for up to 192 GB of memory at up to DDR5-7600+ (OC), three M.2 slots, four SATA III ports and 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet. The CSM (Corporate Stable Model) variant is aimed at stable, long-lifecycle use.

This board suits compact desktop builds that need a solid AM5 platform without extra frills: three M.2 slots and four SATA ports give plenty of storage room, and there is a USB-C port plus two 10 Gbit/s USB-A ports on the rear panel. Display outputs are HDMI and DisplayPort, usable with CPUs that have integrated graphics. It uses an 8+2+1 phase power design with discrete MOSFETs. A BIOS update may be needed for the newest processors.
