Product Overview

The Asus PRIME B840-PLUS WIFI is an ATX motherboard for Socket AM5 built on the AMD B840 chipset. It supports AMD Ryzen 7000, 8000 and 9000 series processors, including X3D models, and offers four DDR5 slots, three M.2 slots (two PCIe 4.0, one PCIe 3.0), Wi-Fi 6E with Bluetooth 5.3 and 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet on board.

It suits a mid-range Ryzen AM5 gaming or general-purpose build where you want fast NVMe storage, built-in wireless and plenty of fan headers without paying for a higher-tier chipset. Seven 4-pin PWM fan headers and three addressable RGB headers (Aura Sync) cover cooling and lighting. Storage includes four SATA ports with RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10. Rear I/O has HDMI, DisplayPort and a USB-C 10 Gbit/s port. A BIOS update may be needed for the newest processors.

Irish online stores in general have a common practice of selling something they don't have - claiming they do - and then ordering from their source, leading to long shipping times and frustated customers. That was not the case here! I've asked them to let me know when they had the graphics card I wanted back in stock as it was out of stock. On the next day I had a positive from them and in about a week the card was installed on my pc ! On top of that they work with Humm so I could split the payments.
