Product Overview

The Asus ROG Maximus Z890 Hero BTF is an ATX motherboard built on the Intel Z890 chipset for LGA 1851 Core Ultra (Series 2) processors. It takes four DDR5 DIMMs, supports speeds up to DDR5-8800 and offers six M.2 slots, three of them PCIe 5.0, plus a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot for the graphics card. Connectivity includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports, Wi-Fi 7 and dual Ethernet (5 Gb and 2.5 Gb).

This board suits high-end Intel Arrow Lake builds that need plenty of fast NVMe storage and modern connectivity. It supports Core Ultra 5, 7 and 9 processors, including the unlocked K and KF models. The BTF design hides connectors for cleaner cable management, and an extra DIMM.2 module takes two more M.2 NVMe SSDs. Realtek ALC4082 audio, Bluetooth 5.4 and Aura Sync RGB headers are also on board. A BIOS update may be needed for the newest processors.
