Product Overview
The Asus ROG Maximus Z890 Extreme is an E-ATX motherboard built on the Intel Z890 chipset for LGA 1851 Core Ultra (Series 2) processors. It supports four DDR5 DIMMs with speeds up to 8800 MHz, has four M.2 slots plus a DIMM.2 module that takes two more NVMe SSDs, and offers two Thunderbolt 5 ports. Networking is 10 Gb Ethernet, 2.5 Gb Ethernet and Wi-Fi 7 with Bluetooth 5.4.
This board is aimed at high-end Intel builds where storage, connectivity and memory headroom matter. The three PCIe x16-length slots, 20 Gbit/s USB-C, eight PWM fan headers and AURA Sync RGB support suit a large enthusiast gaming or workstation-style PC. It comes with a long accessory kit including SATA cables, ARGB splitters, a Wi-Fi antenna and M.2 cooling pads. A BIOS update may be required for the newest processors.
