The Asus ROG Maximus Z890 Apex is an ATX motherboard built on the Intel Z890 chipset for LGA 1851 processors, covering the Core Ultra Series 2 (Arrow Lake) range. It uses a two-slot DDR5 layout with memory support up to DDR5-9600 (OC), and offers four M.2 slots plus a DIMM.2 module that takes two further NVMe SSDs.

This board suits enthusiast builds and overclocking-focused systems with an unlocked Core Ultra K-series CPU. It adds two Thunderbolt 4 ports, 5 Gb Ethernet, Wi-Fi 7 with Bluetooth 5.4 and a Realtek ALC4080 audio codec. The finish is cobble-grey with polished metallic accents and a mostly silver palette.
