Product Overview

The MSI MPG X870E Carbon WiFi is an ATX motherboard built on the AMD X870E chipset for Socket AM5 processors. What sets it apart is the connectivity: 5 Gb and 2.5 Gb Ethernet, Wi-Fi 7 with Bluetooth 5.4, two USB4 ports and four M.2 slots, two of which run at PCIe Gen 5.0. It has four DDR5 slots supporting up to 256 GB, with overclocked speeds listed up to DDR5-8400+.

This board suits high-end AMD builds based on Ryzen 7000, 8000 and 9000 series processors, including the X3D models, where fast storage and wired and wireless networking matter. It offers eight 4-pin PWM fan headers, three addressable RGB headers and Mystic Light RGB control. The fitted PCIe 5.0 x16 slot covers a current graphics card, and four SATA ports handle additional drives. A BIOS update may be needed to support the newest processors. Realtek ALC4080 audio is onboard.
