Product Overview

The MSI B850 Gaming Plus WiFi is an ATX motherboard for AMD Socket AM5 built on the B850 chipset. It stands out with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 on board, 5 Gigabit Ethernet, a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot and three M.2 slots, the first running at PCIe 5.0. A back-connect design moves the power connectors, fan pins and SATA ports to the rear of the board for tidier cable management.

It suits a modern AM5 gaming build with a Ryzen 7000, 8000 or 9000 series processor, including X3D models. Four DDR5 slots take up to 256 GB, with supported speeds up to 8200 MHz (O.C.). Storage options include four SATA III ports plus three M.2 slots. A 12+2+1 Duet Rail power system with 8+8-pin CPU power, an extended heatsink and an M.2 Shield Frozr support heavy loads. A BIOS update may be needed for the newest processors.
