The Synology SNV5420 800 GB NVMe SSD is an M.2 2280 drive from the SNV5400 series, built for caching in Synology NAS systems. It uses a PCIe 3.0 interface and is rated for up to 3,000 MB/s read and 1,000 MB/s write, with 400,000 read IOPS and 70,000 write IOPS. Endurance is rated at 1,400 TBW with an MTBF of 3,000,000 hours.

This drive is aimed at always-on, multi-user NAS environments where frequently used data needs to be served quickly. The SNV5400 series includes end-to-end data protection to help keep data intact during transfer, and it integrates fully with Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM), which can estimate the drive’s lifespan based on your actual workloads. It fits a standard M.2 2280 slot and measures 22 x 80 x 3.5 mm.
