The Samsung PM893 3.84 TB SATA SSD is a data centre drive in the 2.5-inch format with a 6 Gb/s SATA interface. It reaches 550 MB/s sequential reads and 520 MB/s writes, with random performance of up to 98,000 read and 30,000 write IOPS. What sets it apart from consumer SATA drives is the 2,733 TBW endurance rating, power-loss protection and end-to-end data protection.

Samsung positions the PM893 as a replacement for traditional HDDs in web, streaming, application and cache servers, where it handles mixed workloads at low latency. It also suits home labs, NAS builds and workstations that need a large, durable SATA drive. The drive supports AES 256-bit encryption and TCG Opal, and has an MTBF of 2,000,000 hours. Operating power draw is 3.2 W, dropping to 1.3 W at idle.
