The Samsung PM9A3 960 GB M.2 22110 SSD is a datacentre-class NVMe drive using PCIe 4.0 x4 and Samsung V-NAND. Sequential speeds reach 5,000 MB/s read (5,500 MB/s per Icecat) and 1,400 MB/s write, while random performance is rated at 550,000 IOPS read and 60,000 IOPS write. It is built on the Samsung Elpis controller with a 1,370 TB TBW rating and a 2,000,000-hour MTBF.

Unlike typical consumer M.2 2280 drives, this SSD uses the longer M.2 22110 form factor (110 mm) and adds Power-Loss Protection, AES 256-bit encryption and TCG Opal support, so check that your motherboard or server has a 22110-length M.2 slot before buying. It suits servers, workstations and enterprise builds where endurance and data protection matter more than peak write speed. Power draw is 7.5 W in operation and 2.5 W at idle.
