Product Overview

The Asus PRO WS W680-ACE is an ATX workstation motherboard built on the Intel W680 chipset for LGA 1700 processors. What sets it apart from consumer boards is ECC memory support across four DDR5 DIMM slots (dual-channel, up to 192 GB per Wave data), two PCIe 5.0 x16 slots, three M.2 slots and dual Intel 2.5 Gb Ethernet. It also adds SlimSAS and a Thunderbolt header.

This board suits workstation and always-on builds that need ECC memory, multi-GPU expansion and plenty of storage, such as rendering, modelling or media production. Storage options include four SATA ports, one SlimSAS connector and three M.2 slots, with RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 available. Video outputs (VGA, HDMI, DisplayPort) only work with a CPU that has integrated graphics. A BIOS update may be needed for the newest processors. Supplied with two SATA cables, an I/O shield and M.2 mounting accessories.
