Product Overview

The Asus P12R-E is an ATX server motherboard that supports the Asus P12R-E Intel C256 platform for LGA 1200 processors. It has four DDR4 DIMM slots running dual-channel for up to 128 GB at speeds up to 3200 MHz, a PCIe 4.0 x16 slot, three PCIe x8 slots and two M.2 connectors. Dual Intel I210-AT Gigabit LAN, an extra management LAN port and Intel VROC set it apart from standard desktop boards.

Built as a server board rather than a gaming board, the P12R-E suits file servers, small business servers and workstation-style builds based on Intel Xeon E or Pentium processors. Four Mini-SAS HD connectors provide eight SATA III ports, with RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 available, and the Aspeed AST2600 provides onboard graphics with 64 MB of VRAM. Outputs include VGA and HDMI. A BIOS update may be required for the newest processors.
