The Asus ROG Crosshair X870E Extreme is an E-ATX motherboard for Socket AM5, built on the AMD X870E chipset and described by Asus as its flagship board for Ryzen 9000 processors. It offers five M.2 slots (three of them PCIe 5.0), two USB4 ports, 10 Gb and 5 Gb Ethernet, Wi-Fi 7 and an integrated 5-inch LCD for monitoring system performance.

With four DDR5 slots supporting up to 256 GB and speeds of 8200+ MT/s (OC) on Ryzen 9000 CPUs, this board suits high-end AM5 builds that need lots of fast storage and connectivity. It supports AMD EXPO and ASUS AEMP memory profiles, ECC and non-ECC unbuffered memory, and has a Realtek ALC4082 audio codec with an ESS ES9219 QUAD DAC. Being E-ATX, it needs a case that supports that form factor. A BIOS update may be needed for the newest CPUs.
