Product Overview

The Dell UltraSharp U3425WE is a 34.1-inch curved monitor with a 3440 x 1440 (WQHD) IPS Black panel in a 21:9 format. It runs at 120 Hz and has a 1900R curvature, a typical 2000:1 contrast ratio and 98% DCI-P3 coverage. What sets it apart from most monitors is the built-in Thunderbolt hub: two Thunderbolt 4 ports, 90 W power delivery, an RJ45 Ethernet port and KVM switching.

It is aimed at office and business setups where one cable to a laptop should handle video, charging, network and peripherals. The stand adjusts for height (150 mm), tilt and swivel, and the monitor is VESA 100 x 100 mm compatible. Five USB-A and three USB-C ports sit on the hub, and the box includes DisplayPort, HDMI, USB and Thunderbolt 4 cables. It has no HDR, FreeSync or G-Sync support, so it suits productivity rather than competitive gaming.

Irish online stores in general have a common practice of selling something they don't have - claiming they do - and then ordering from their source, leading to long shipping times and frustated customers. That was not the case here! I've asked them to let me know when they had the graphics card I wanted back in stock as it was out of stock.
