The Intel Core i9-12900KF is a 16-core, 24-thread desktop processor for the LGA1700 socket, built on the Alder Lake architecture. It combines 8 Performance cores (16 threads) with 8 Efficiency cores (8 threads), boosting up to 5.1 GHz from a 3.2 GHz base clock. The unlocked multiplier and 30 MB of L3 cache set it apart from locked and lower-core-count chips.

This boxed processor suits gaming and high-end desktop builds that use a separate graphics card, as the KF model has no integrated graphics. It supports PCIe 5.0 and 4.0 plus DDR5 and DDR4 memory, and works with 700 and 600 series chipset motherboards. Note that no cooler is included in the box, so you will need to buy a suitable cooler separately. The TDP is 125 W, rising to 241 W maximum.
