Product Overview

The AMD Ryzen Threadripper 7960X is a 24-core, 48-thread desktop processor for the sTR5 socket. It runs at a 4.2 GHz base clock with a boost of up to 5.3 GHz, and carries 128 MB of L3 cache (plus 24 MB of L2) with four memory channels, which sets it apart from mainstream AM5 desktop chips.

AMD positions this CPU at content creators who want faster file exports, power users who want projects finished sooner and developers who want quicker compile times. It supports PCIe 5.0 and AMD EXPO memory technology, has a 350 W TDP and no integrated graphics, so you will need a discrete GPU. The boxed version ships without a cooler, so a suitable sTR5 cooler must be bought separately.
