The AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D is an 8-core, 16-thread desktop processor for Socket AM5, built on the Zen 5 microarchitecture on a 4 nm process. It runs at 4.7 GHz with a boost of up to 5.2 GHz, and its 96 MB of L3 cache comes from AMD’s 3D V-Cache technology, which AMD says delivers low latency and extra gaming performance.

This is a good fit for gaming builds on an AM5 motherboard where cache size matters. The multiplier is unlocked, memory runs on two channels with AMD EXPO support, and PCIe 5.0 is supported. The integrated AMD Radeon Graphics can drive a display without a discrete card. The TDP is 120 W, and this boxed version does not include a cooler, so you will need to buy one separately.
