The AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D is an 8-core, 16-thread desktop processor for socket AM4, built on the Zen 3 architecture. What sets it apart from other AM4 chips is AMD 3D V-Cache technology, which gives it 96 MB of L3 cache (98,304 KB). It runs at a 3.4 GHz base clock with a boost of up to 4.5 GHz and has a TDP of 105 W.

This is a drop-in upgrade for gamers and builders who already have an AM4 motherboard and want more performance without changing platform. It supports PCIe 4.0 and dual-channel memory with ECC support, and it is sold as the boxed version with a Carbice Ice Pad included. Note that there is no cooler in the box and no integrated graphics, so you will need a separate CPU cooler and a dedicated graphics card.
