Product Overview

The Asus ROG Thor 1000W Platinum III is a 1000 W ATX power supply with 80 PLUS Platinum and Cybenetics Platinum certification, built to ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 standards. It stands out with a GaN MOSFET, which Asus says offers up to 30% more power efficiency than standard MOSFETs, and a patented “GPU-First” voltage stabiliser that Asus says improves the voltage delivered to the graphics card by up to 45%.

A magnetic OLED display shows power draw in real time and can be moved to either side of the unit, so the PSU can be installed fan-up or fan-down. It is fully modular and includes a native 12V-2×6 (12+4 pin) connector plus four 6+2 pin PCIe connectors, which suits high-end gaming builds with a demanding graphics card. Turbo Mode gives maximum cooling for overclocking or heavy workloads, and the aluminium casing and ROG heatsinks help keep heat under control.
