The Inter-Tech ST-729 Intel i210 Gigabit network card is a single-port LAN adapter that fits a PCIe x1 slot. It is built around the Intel i210 chipset, which takes load off the main processor so network transfers do not tie up the CPU as much as they often do with ordinary network cards. It offers one RJ-45 port at 10/100/1000 Mbit/s.

The ST-729 is designed for desktop environments and suits builds that need a wired Gigabit connection, for example when a motherboard has no onboard LAN or a second port is wanted. The i210 is energy efficient at idle in line with IEEE 802.3az, and the card supports PXE and Boot-ROM for network booting. It works with Windows 7, 8, 10 and 11 as well as Linux, and a low profile bracket is optional.
