Product Overview
The Asus PCE-AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 adapter is an internal PCIe x1 card that adds Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and Bluetooth 5.2 to a desktop PC. It reaches up to 1775 Mbit/s combined, with 574 Mbit/s on the 2.4 GHz band and 1201 Mbit/s on 5 GHz. OFDMA and MU-MIMO are used to share bandwidth between several devices at once, and Asus quotes speeds up to 1.5 times faster than Wi-Fi 5.
This card suits a desktop that has no built-in wireless, or one still on an older Wi-Fi standard. It needs a free PCIe x1 slot, as it only supports the PCI Express x1 standard, and it uses external antennas. WPA3 encryption is supported, and the card also works with older 802.11a/b/g/n/ac networks. This is the bulk version of the product, supplied without retail packaging. The Icecat data lists Windows 10 x64 as the supported operating system.
