Product Overview

The MSI MAG Z790 TOMAHAWK WIFI is an ATX motherboard built on the Intel Z790 chipset for LGA 1700 processors. It has four DDR5 slots running dual-channel, with support for memory speeds up to DDR5-7200 (OC), and four M.2 slots that all support PCIe Gen 4.0. Connectivity is a strong point, with Intel 2.5 Gbps LAN, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 on board.

This board suits a mid-range to high-end Intel gaming or general-purpose build where lots of storage and fast I/O matter. Seven SATA ports and four M.2 slots leave plenty of room for drives, while the PCIe 5.0 x16 slot is ready for a modern graphics card. It also offers eight 4-pin PWM fan headers, one RGB header and three addressable RGB headers (Mystic Light). A BIOS update may be needed to support the very latest processors.
