Product Overview

The Asus PRIME B850-PLUS WIFI is an ATX motherboard for Socket AM5, built on the AMD B850 chipset. It supports Ryzen 7000, 8000 and 9000 series processors and offers four DDR5 slots for up to 256 GB of memory, with speeds up to DDR5-8000+ (OP). Storage is covered by three M.2 slots, the first running at PCIe 5.0 speed, plus four SATA ports.

This board suits AM5 gaming and general-purpose builds that want modern connectivity without stepping up to a higher chipset. Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3 and 2.5 Gb Ethernet are built in, along with 7.1 audio and HDMI and DisplayPort outputs for CPUs with integrated graphics. Seven 4-pin PWM fan headers and three addressable RGB headers (AURA Sync) help with cooling and lighting. A BIOS update may be needed for the newest processors.

All the process of building the config designed for my needs was handled very smoothly and rapidly by Jola. The desktop came with one day of delay due to DHL issues, not their fault. Irish online stores in general have a common practice of selling something they don't have - claiming they do - and then ordering from their source, leading to long shipping times and frustated customers. That was not the case here! I've asked them to let me know when they had the graphics card I wanted back in stock as it was out of stock. On the next day I had a positive from them and in about a week the card was installed on my pc ! On top of that they work with Humm so I could split the payments.
