Product Overview

The Noctua NF-A4x20 5V PWM 40 mm fan is a PWM-controlled 5V version of Noctua’s quiet 40×20 mm premium fan, running from 1,100 to 5,000 RPM at 14.9 dB. It uses the AAO frame and Flow Acceleration Channels from the A-series, and moves up to 9.4 m³/h (5.5 cfm) with static pressure of up to 2.26 mm H2O on only 0.5 W.

This fan is made for 5V applications that need PWM control, so it suits compact builds and small enclosures where a 40 mm fan fits. It has the custom NE-FD3 PWM IC with Smooth Commutation Drive and an SSO2 bearing for stable long-term running. Modular cabling and the OmniJoin adapter set are included. Important: as a 5V fan it must not be connected to 12V sources such as standard motherboard fan headers, as this will damage the fan.
