Product Overview

The Joy-IT Armor Case Block Active is a CNC-milled aluminium case for the Raspberry Pi 5, with a large heatsink and an active fan built in. The channel-milled body works together with the fan to keep the board cool, and Joy-IT quotes roughly 30 °C at idle and around 51 °C under full load. It also protects the Pi against knocks and heat.

This case suits Raspberry Pi 5 projects that run in warm or demanding conditions, where passive cooling alone is not enough. It adds no extra space around the board, so it can be fitted into existing projects without changing the layout. At 56 x 15.5 x 69 mm and 120 g, it stays compact. Four screws join the case to the Pi, and thermal transfer foil is included in the box.

All the process of building the config designed for my needs was handled very smoothly and rapidly by Jola. The desktop came with one day of delay due to DHL issues, not their fault. Irish online stores in general have a common practice of selling something they don't have - claiming they do - and then ordering from their source, leading to long shipping times and frustated customers. That was not the case here! I've asked them to let me know when they had the graphics card I wanted back in stock as it was out of stock.
