Product Overview

The Inter-Tech 3U-30248 is a 3U rack-mount server case in black steel (1.0-1.2 mm) that takes ATX motherboards and ATX power supplies. What sets it apart is its flexible drive layout: the mounting frames on both sides can be removed to fit up to six external 5.25″ drives, while four 3.5″ bays sit in the middle, giving a maximum of twelve 3.5″ or fourteen 2.5″ drives internally.

It suits a budget-friendly home lab, storage server or small business rack build where drive capacity matters. Cooling comes from a 120 mm front fan plus two 60 mm fans, and the drive blanks can take up to six 40 mm fans. The front panel has two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, power and reset buttons and LEDs for power, disk activity, three network connections and alarm. The lid uses snap-in fasteners, and screws and drive rails are included.
