Both NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync synchronize monitor’s refresh rate with GPU’s framerate. Both of these technologies fix tearing, and improve smoothness at minimal input lag. The difference between the two technologies is very hard to compare, and most gamers are not able to tell the difference.
The most glaring difference is the cost of setup. NVIDIA G-Sync monitors have licensing fees added by NVIDIA, NVIDIA G-Sync monitors are pricier than their AMD FreeSync counterpart. There is also more choice between AMD FreeSync monitors on the market and less choice in NVIDIA G-Sync monitors. However, G-Sync monitors are usually higher-end in terms of specifications. When it comes down to the price, AMD FreeSync monitors and Radeon graphics cards offer the highest value for your money.
